December 31 – Jesus the Conqueror

Jesus. That is the Name by which you conquer. Jesus. Not as cringing suppliants but as those recognizing a friend, say My Name — Jesus. “Thou shalt call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.”

And in that word “sins” read not only vice and degradation, but doubts, fears, tempers, despondencies, impatience, lack of Love in big and little things. Jesus. “He shall save His people from their sins.” The very uttering of the Name lifts the soul away from petty valley-irritations to mountain heights.

“He shall save His people from their sins.” Savior and Friend, Joy-bringer and Rescuer, Leader and Guide — Jesus. Do you need delivering from cowardice, from adverse circumstances, from poverty, from failure, from weakness?

“There is none other Name . . . whereby you can be saved” — Jesus. Say it often. Claim the Power it brings.

“Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is 
excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.” Psalm 148:13

When you think of those of whom you read who are in anguish, do you ever think how My Heart must ache with the woe of it, with the anguish of it?

If I beheld the city and wept over it, how much more should I weep over the agony of these troubled hearts, over lives that seek to live without My sustaining Power.

“They will not come into Me that they might have Life.”

Live to bring others to Me, the only Source of Happiness and Heart-Peace.

“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, 
I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the 
fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35

– actually i dont know if God is telling us ” i had released your pains, i had freed you from it, but there are people that are having the same pain as you did… those people I love them, and i want you to draw them near to me , and I will free them from their pain, to have my love,peace,mercy, safety  and tender .

Feeling God !!

hi there, i guess that many of us wish to feel God’s presence, to have a materialistic touch, some wish it to believe in God, some wish it to face their doubts, some wish it to feel safe, or to  feel that  we are in the right pass , me ,myself maybe have wished all of this , any ways this is the answer from God himself .

December 28 – Signs and Feelings

[Our Lord, Thou art here. Let us feel Thy nearness.]

I am here. Do not need feeling too much. To ask for feeling too much is to ask for a sign, and then the answer is the same as that I gave when on earth. “There shall no sign be given but the sign of the prophet Jonah. . . . For as Jonah was three days and three nights . . . so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

Veiled from sight to the unbeliever. To the believer the veiling is only temporary, to be followed by a glorious Resurrection. . . .

What does it matter what you feel? What matters is what I am, was, and ever shall be to you — A Risen Lord. . . . the feeling that I am with you may depend upon any passing mood of yours — upon a change of circumstances, upon a mere trifle.

I am uninfluenced by circumstances. . . . My Promise given is kept. I am here, one with you in tender loving friendship.

in my opinion, God is removing all the doubts, he is telling us that his existence in our life , in our heart and mind, shouldn’t depend on our feelings, one day you feel God one day you don’t, God is more than that, he is telling us I am here, always here for you, even if you don’t feel it, don’t let something temporary or something that can come and goes decides your faith, just believe it from your heart that I am here , believe me ,even if everything else even your feelings ,thoughts and mind are telling you that I am not here.

During the month of August, we live a period of fasting, bearing the name of the Holy Virgin, the Mother of Light. We celebrate her feast on August 22nd (Mesori 16th). The Fast of Saint Mary, the Feast of the Holy Virgin, and talking about the Mother of the Savior are all beloved subjects to the soul. Even those who are not accustomed to observing all the Church’s fasts, observe Saint Mary’s Fast and may even increase their asceticism during this period. During this fast, the churches, especially the ones bearing the name of the Holy Virgin, are all filled with worshippers during the Divine Liturgies and at the other services, which are held almost daily. They thank God and glorify Him, Who was incarnate of the Holy Virgin, for our salvation, and that He made His mother a mother for all of us. When He was on the cross, what Christ said to Saint John the Beloved, “Behold your mother,” is something that applies to all those who follow in Saint John’s footsteps. Like Saint John the Beloved, we also take the Holy Virgin to dwell in our hearts and become a mother, who cares for us and intercedes on our behalf before her Beloved Son.

The intercession of the Virgin, the Mother of Light, is an expression of her motherhood towards us. When we salute the Ever-Virgin, the one full of glory, the Mother of God, and Mother of Christ, we call her, “the saint, and the faithful intercessor of mankind.” We call her “the trustworthy saint infront of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Our mother the Virgin is the faithful and trustworthy intercessor. With confidence and strong faith, we call unto her saying, “lift up our prayers to your Beloved Son that He may forgive us our sins…Ask the Lord on our behalf to have mercy on our souls… Intercede for infront of Christ.” Our confidence in the intercession of the Holy Virgin, as a faithful and trustworthy intercessor is dependent on two things:

The Honor of the Holy Virgin:
The Holy Virgin received honor above the Cherubim and Seraphim. When we ask her intercession, we also remember her honor and call her, “the saint, full of glory, the Ever-Virgin, the Mother of Christ, the true Queen, the pride of mankind.” In the Sunday Theotokia, we pray and say:
“You are more worthy than all the saints to ask on our behalf, O, you full of grace.
You are more exalted than the Patriarchs and more honored than the prophets.
Your petition is more special than the Cherubim and Seraphim.
For you truly are the pride of our race and the intercessor of our souls.
Intercede on our behalf before our Savior that He may confirm us in the upright faith, and grant us forgiveness of our sins, so we may win mercy through your intercession.”
Words fail to express the honor and glory of the Virgin, for she has heavenly glory and honor above that of the Cherubim and Seraphim. With reverence, mixed with inner joy, let us recall the words prayed in the Sunday Theotokia:
“All the high names of the incorporeal creatures, the thousands of angels and archangels, don’t reach the greatness of your blessedness, O you, who is surrounded by the glory of the Lord of Hosts.
You are more luminous than the sun and brighter than the Cherubim.
The Seraphim with six wings flutter joyfully around you.”

The glory of the angels and archangels, the radiance of the sun, and brilliance of the Cherubim all dwindle when compared to the glory of the Virgin, “who is surrounded by the glory of the Lord of Hosts.” Therefore, it is no wonder that the Cherubim with six wings flutter joyfully around her.
“Your glory, O Mary, is higher than the heaven and you are honored more than the earth and its inhabitants, for truly you are the true path leading to heaven.”

How can we reach heaven, except through the incarnation of the Only Begotten Son from the Holy Virgin? She is Jacob’s ladder, which joins heaven and earth.

The Virgin Full of Glory is our Mother:
We call her “the pride of humanity”. She was born similar to all of us, and like every human born of a woman, she was in need of salvation from the bondage to sin and death. Thus, in The Magnificat, she said, “And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:47) The Virgin Mary, who is surrounded by the glory of the Lord of Hosts, has great glory because of the glory of the Lord of Hosts. It is this glory, which gives her boldness more than the Cherubim and Seraphim, for she is the Queen sitting at the right Hand of the Kings of kings and Lord of lords.

The glorious Holy Virgin, who has this great boldness infront of the Lord of Hosts, knows our sufferings, pains, and needs, because she is our mother and member of our human race. This great boldness, along with her true and deep knowledge of the needs of the human race, makes the Virgin the faithful and trustworthy intercessor of mankind infront of our Creator, Lord, Savior, and King, Jesus Christ.

The Virgin, the Mother of Light, intercedes for us infornt of her Beloved Son to bestow upon us the forgiveness of our sins. She intercedes that He may show mercy towards us and confirm us in the upright faith.

Our Mother, the Virgin, the faithful advocate and trustworthy intercessor asks for our worldly needs. At the Wedding at Cana of Galilee, she asked her Son on behalf of the party-givers and told Him, “They have no wine.” (John 2:3) The intercession of the Virgin is wholesome for she asks for our spiritual, as well as our material needs.

Many souls, like Saint Mary of Egypt, were attracted to the life of holiness and righteousness through the intercession of the Virgin. Many, who were ill, needy, suffering, or imprisoned, were saved by her intercession. We recall that at the miracle of moving the Mountain of El-Mokatam, her intercession saved the Copts from annihilation during the days of the Fatimid caliph, Al-Moizz Ledean Allah. We also remember the many miracles that accompanied her apparition at the domes of her church in Zeitoun, Egypt.

On a daily basis, we feel the powerful intercession of the Virgin in our lives, in our pastoral ministry, and in serving the needy and suffering. Indeed, those who deny the intercession of the Virgin are poor souls, who deprive themselves of her motherhood.

As for us, the unworthy, we rejoice because of our Mother and joyfully say, “You are more worthy than all the saints to ask for us, O you, who is full of grace.”

O, Virgin Mary, Mother of God, the faithful intercessor of the human race, intercede for us infront of Christ, Whom you have born, that He may bestow upon us the forgiveness of our sins.
Lift up our prayers to your Beloved Son.
Ask the Lord to show mercy towards our souls.
Intercede for us infront of our Savior that He may confirm us in the upright faith.
Intercede for every sinner that he may repent and return to God.
Intercede for every needy and suffering person that God may fulfill his or her needs.
Intercede for every soul walking in darkness that he may see the True Light, Whom you gave birth to, and believe in Him.
Intercede for the whole world.

May the intercessions of the Holy Virgin be with us all and may we always be blessed by the care and motherhood of the Mother of Light.

Who’s my mentor ?

Some times i find no one to guide or to lead my spiritual life, at church there’s a youth leader, but it’s been a month since the group was made ,it’s supposed to be once a week, any way for the last month it was canceled each time because the leader is not availble or because someone is not coming because he had to reavel for work for a while or something and we are not supposed to continue sessions with out him. anyway , this month i needed guidance the most, i was stumbling in so many ways, in so many issues , and since i needed help i couldn’t find, i prayed for God and asked who can help me ? , i am left alone, no one has time to help me ,to answer my questions, and i am having hard time now, i was astonished or shocked , because how can my spiritual life depends on someone or somepeople that at sometime they maynot be availble or here, i was sad actually and hopeless, many questions were in my mind and i couldn’t help it. Iam sure that many of you , feel the same, ( i hope you don’t actually ) but it’s  was the sad truth for me, no one is surrounding to help, the answer is in the following lines in psalm 119

       I meditate on it all day long.

 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
       for they are ever with me.

 99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
       for I meditate on your statutes.

 100 I have more understanding than the elders,

— notice with me the first verses :

- it  says here  ” I meditate on it all day long” the law which is God’s words to each one of us when one meditate on them (think of them, understand them, love them, hold them by his heart”- I am starting to get a clue-

the writer is saying that he is having more insight than all his teachers for he mditates on God’ statutes

he is having more understanding than the elders because he obey’s God’s precepts.

 

what God told me then, that my mentor is God himself, I do need a youth leader, i do need to have a group in the church , but God is not going to leave me alone ,God is not going to leave me as a leaf carried by the wind that has no one to collect , God saying I am not leaving you , i will take care of you ,i will tell you what to do through my words , my law , my statutes my precepts, Don’t worry  they will make you wise, it will give you sight, it will give you understanding,.

this is very beautiful from God, he is taking care of every one of us, when we ask him to be our mentor, it’s a great honour, a great chance to have a master a teacher who is God. so you can have God as your mentor, ask him , tell him God i want  you to teach me, i want to follow your law,your commands, your satutes, your preciepts because you will give me understanding , you will give me wisdom , you will  tell me what to do , and you will lead me through each day of my life through them , nothing is going to stop God’s love, God’s guidance, God’s parenthood from us, God’s love is unstopable,  even when you are left alone with no one to tell you what to do, God is there ,i prayed to God i told him what to do , i have no one to take care of me, but God answered through his words telling me i am taking care of you, pray to God to take care of you , to lead you , to be your mentor, to support you, his love is incredible , his love is so pure and complete,. actually i am going to take it as for all time, take that God is my mentor, i do need  the youth group and the youth leader, God is going to talk to me through them ,God is the source, if the words of the leader is not from God, they are useless, God is the source, God is the mentor, however things are bad at your group or something, God is always here , God is the source, I am going to ask God every day to be my mentor , to lead me, to tell me what to do, to help me  and answer my questions, God gave us a precious gift which is the holy bible, it’s God message for each one of us every day a specific message for each one of us every day ,every minute, for every thought and every challenge and every questions. Let’s not forget that God is the great teacher , he is all in all , and he is my and your mentor.

if you want God to teach you , please pray right now, aks him to be your father ,your love, your salvation and your teacher, tell him i want you, i open my heart for you to love ,to lead and to guide me through my life. tell him all your fears, all your questions, becuase he has all the love, all the courage, all the wisdom, all the power and all the answers.

Don’t worry we are God’s sons and daughters, he loves us, he is our father, he is taking care of us, don’t let fear  slip into your heart, remember that God is mighty to save, and he is stronger than any circumstances or any problems or difficulities, remeber that your lord has conquered the grave, created the heaven and the earth , he can take care of each one of us, and he loves to do so, believe him ,blieve his words, and ask him to be in your life.

did you forgot about the poor or what?? ( feeling lonely)

A day earlier before Christmas, a priest went out to a small village in upper Egypt with one of the servants to give Christmas gifts to the needy in the village, and after they went to the houses they meant to go  in the village, there was still a small hut at the end of the village, the servant hesitated to go because all the effort they did and because the it was late that they can catch up with the prayers in the Christmas eve, but the priest encouraged him to go to that hut, so they walked through a long road, till they reached the hut, and they were asking themselves while they were walking ,who is going to open the door for them, because they know that the lady that lives in that hut can’t walk, so they reached the hut, they knocked  , the strange thing that they have found the lady opening ,and that her leg can carry her now, so they gave her the gift of the Christmas which was food supplies, she thanked them and then they were going to leave , but she insisted that they come in, and then they smelled a lovely scent and saw a clear light inside the hut that they didn’t know it’s source.

The lady told them , I live here with my son in that hut, and I can’t take care of myself, and my son spends most of the time out, and I suffer of the feeling of being alone because it’s rare that someone come and visit in our simple hut that’s away from the village, and there’s nothing I can do but to pray and ask God to carry away my feeling of loneliness and give me a bit of peace and rest, and today after my son went out, my feeling of being lonely and abandoned increased a lot ,because today everyone is getting ready to celebrate the Christmas and is wearing new clothes and meet each other at the church while I am staying alone in that hut and not feeling the joy of the Christmas, so I started to pray and  reproaching  Christ because he left me in this loneliness and the picture of baby Christ held by the virgin Mary  was hanged on the wall in front of me, so I looked at him and reproached him saying ,”did you forget about the poor or what?”

Then I started to think that nobody is going to visit her whether of her relatives or from the church so I kept reproaching Christ saying to him that the Christmas is here and no one came to visit, and while I am looking at him I find him coming out of the picture and came near to me and cleared my tears and told me merry Christmas, so I felt joy and dread  that I can’t express , and at the same time I felt that a power is moving through me ,so my weak legs got stronger and I stood and then Christ disappeared leaving in the hut his beautiful light and his beautiful scent ,and it is not to long till you knocked my door, so the priest and the servant had  consolation and thanked God that encouraged them to make their last visit and the most important visit , in this low hut to become the greatest house in the village, and as a long time ago , God blessed the place that never was expected that a human to be born in a  manger , now he blessed this place too,

When people go away from you or when that many are around you but no one feels you , and you suffer from  psychological isolation, know that Christ longs to make you feel his presence , he is so close to you, and this is your chance to enjoy him, ask for him, and put all your  complaints and your needs in front of him , he loves you and longs to hear your prayers and whatever how long you have been feeling lonely , know that he was beside you from the first hour, and never left you for a single moment, ask  him with insistence that he reveals himself to you, so that he gives your heart consolation ,and you enjoy peace and joy

We seek Thee as Thou hast told us.

And seeking you shall find. None ever sought My Presence in vain. None ever sought My Help in vain.

A breath of desire and My Spirit is there — to replenish and renew. Sometimes weariness and exhaustion are not signs of lack of spirit but of the guiding of the Spirit.

Many wonderful things would not have happened but for the physical weariness, the mind-weariness of My servants, which made the resting apart, the giving up of work, a necessity…

Though My Way may seem a narrow way it yet leads to Life, abundant Life. Follow it. It is not so narrow but that I can tread it beside you.

Never too lonely with such companionship. A comrade infinitely tender, infinitely strong, will tread the way with you.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.  Matthew 7:14
